The initial training involves an interactive workshop and individual assessment of breathing patterns. In the follow-up workshop specific applications for Taking A Breather are tailored to suit individual workplaces, groups or organizations.  There is also individual follow-up to reinforce correct breathing technique is being used.
 
The individual assessment of breathing patterns usually only takes 5-10 minutes per person. Additional support and techniques are given to anyone who experiences difficulty in changing their breathing pattern.
 
Information covered in the workshops includes the positive and negative impact of our breathing patterns,  why we may need to learn how to breathe, how the Solar Plexus Breathing Technique is different to other breathing techniques,  an introduction to psychoneuroimmunology (the mind/body connection),  having  a ‘healthy mind’, experiencing mindfulness,  identifying ‘body signals’, how recent developments in neuro-science;- the neuroplasticity of the brain,  ensure us that change is possible and we do have a choice in how we respond to life and the kind of person we become, making Take A Breather an integral part of your workplace culture,  The benefits of breathing!

The essence of the YAHOO Program can usually be covered in a just one group session (60-90 minutes) The orientation of this session can be tailored to address the specific needs of individual workplaces, groups or organizations.​

In Schools..

We're all in this together

Because the brain is wired through repetition and reinforcement, I am excited by the tremendous opportunity there is if parents, teachers and students are all 'on the same page'.  If we all have and apply, the same knowledge,  strategies and processes, which have been designed with the specific purpose of improving self-esteem, learning how to be true to yourself, making choices that bring out the best in you;- being kind, caring, courteous, fostering an attitude of gratitude and appreciation of all the wonderful opportunities life has to offer, making learning easier, enhancing creativity....  the chances of embedding these qualities in the structure of the brain as the more automatic way of responding to life, are much higher.

The more consistency, repetition and reinforcement there is of the concepts, tools and processes in the YAHOO and Take A Breather Programs, the more likely they are to become the automatic way of being;- embedded in the structure of the brain.

With this in mind, to provide the most support, it is recommended that if you choose to adopt these programs, you involve parents, teachers and students.

 Parent/family workshops    

The Parent/family workshops cover the same topics as the school incursions
Ready to go!                

Supported by the YAHOO series of books and activities, after the school incursion and parent/family workshop, schools and families will have all the information and strategies they need to begin reaping the benefits of the YAHOO program;- at home, in the classroom and on a personal level.

Parent Information session    (45 mins- 1 hour)

Two times offered to cater for working parents/both parents attending;- one during the day and one evening session.

Individual work    (45 mins- 1 hour)
Consultations may be arranged for individual students (Usually only one or two individual sessions are required;- parents and students will be taught how to use the tools and techniques for themselves in a variety of different situations)

Parent/guardian to attend the session with their child

If possible a meeting with the child's teacher is also recommended
